Stop The World, I Want To Get Off!
Is it me, or is our world moving pretty quickly these days? Work, school, kids, laundry, bills, hobbies, parents, friends, study, errands….we’re tired just thinking about the stuff we cram into a typical day! No wonder we’re keeping Gloria Jeans in business and craving sugar every afternoon. And when nighttime comes around and our bodies want to be winding down for sleep, we end up so wired that we need a glass of wine or cocktail to calm down. We’re using a “stimulate-sedate” cycle just to keep up with the pace of our lives. Read more...

Cooling Summer Foods
We naturally crave foods according to the season – comforting soups in the winter, sprouts and salads as spring starts to bloom, and – who are we kidding – ice cream in the summer (especially when it's as hot as last week)! Our bodies are always seeking balance, so it makes sense that we’d crave foods to counteract the effect of the weather. Read more...
The Benefits of a Sugar Detox
A detox or cleanse is the removal from the body of unwanted, unhealthy, or harmful substances. Originally used mainly in terms of alcohol and drugs, the term is now broader and extends to other unhealthy substances. There is a growing body of opinion that sugar, and processed foods, because they contain a lot of sugar (and salt), are quite bad for our health in the sort of quantities that we consume. It is therefore an excellent idea to undergo a sugar detox periodically to identify and remove it in all its forms, from your diet. This will help you break your sugar cravings and balance your blood sugar making weight loss and a steady stream of energy easy to achieve. Read more...
How to Love Your Liver
- What We Eat: Eat organically grown foods that support liver function, like artichokes, oatmeal, garlic, cabbage, rosemary, turmeric, ginger, beets, orange foods and green foods - see our kale recipe below!
- How We Eat: Eat when you’re hungry and stop when you’re full. Eat slowly and chew your food until it’s become liquid to aid digestion.
- How We Move: Consistent, gentle activity like walking, hiking and biking improve circulation in and out of the liver. Make sure you have movement in other areas, too – aim for two bowel movements per day.
- What We Drink: Drink more water. The amount of water we should consume depends on our size, activity level, the weather etc but should be approximately 1.5-3 litres daily.
- How We Feel: In Chinese medicine, anger is the emotion associated with the liver. Acknowledge and work through anger using a journal or the help of a good counselor. Then focus your attention on all the positive things in your life and remember them daily. Read more...

Testimonials
Before the Sugar Detox I was a little sluggish, overloaded and overweight. I was surely overdoing the sugar intake and the alcohol! By the end of the detox I'd lost 3.2Kg, I definitely have more energy and am enjoying getting out of the house and onto the beach or to the pool for some exercise. Herbal teas have become my staple, I really enjoy them. I certainly would and have recommended this detox to other people looking to improve their health and lose weight.

Before the program I was suffering from bloating of the stomach, reflux, insomnia and depression. The Hair Tissue Mineral sample results showed I had heavy metal toxicity and high levels of arsenic in my system. Lisa quickly put together a program of natural remedies and a quality diet to help me repair, renew and release toxins from my body. After the first week I began to benefit in lots of ways. I was sleeping less but better quality sleep and my thoughts became more positive.
After six weeks I lost 3 inches off my waist without exercise (after 6 weeks I’d lost 5Kg). Lisa did all this for me while I was living in a different city via the internet and phone and even after the program was complete she still keeps in contact for any further help. So change your life today, just decide. Many thanks Lisa

Your knowledge of food and what's in it is amazing. I thought my choice of food and diet was pretty good, but you re-educated me. It's amazing what great results you can get from small changes - if everyone visited you (and listened to you!), there would be a lot more healthy, happy and energetic people in the world - well Sydney anyway! I certainly reached my goal in terms of weight loss.

Lisa, your passion for good food is infectious. I have started reading labels and simply don't buy things that have half a dozen E numbers in them anymore! It takes a few more minutes each day to make a salad however it is very yummy and time well spent. I would recommend such a group detox to anyone as we have had your tireless and non-judgmental support.

I recently began working with Lisa doing phone consultations. This was very appealing for me as I live out of Sydney and this often excludes me from having access to many services. I find phone consultations so easy even if I did live in Sydney as travelling around Sydney can be full of traffic and time consuming so am very happy to skip all the travel. The phone consultation means we can catch up for shorter calls but more regularly for the same price as longer face to face consultations so the regular shorter calls help me to be more accountable to my goals.
I have found Lisa to be a most helpful in assisting me with my health goals and grateful to have access to her expertise in such a convenient manner.

Before coming for treatment I felt bloated, lethargic and unfit. It’s a work in progress but already I feel more energetic. Life seems more exciting, more enjoyable. It’s the best thing I’ve done for myself in a long time.

Felt a lot less bloated, my tummy felt "at ease" and much flatter, which was great. Do seem to have more energy. My skin is clearer and I lost 2.5Kg. Made me realise just how much hidden sugar I consume, and how much I pick at food all day. I'm now aware of how much soft drink I was drinking, and how at night time after all the kids are finally asleep I slump in front of the TV and eat lots of junk.
Very happy that I did this, and am quite amazed that I stuck to it really well, though I did finish a day early. Would really like to do it again in 6 months.

I recently participated in Lisa’s sugar detox program and it was great. Going back to food basics and not consuming anything from a ‘packet’ really had a positive effect on me both physically and mentally. I found that even within the first few days, I wasn’t bloated after meals and I didn’t have sugar cravings in the afternoon. You don’t realise how much rubbish is in our everyday foods, even the ‘healthy’ ones, until you start reading labels…it’s frightening. I learned so much about food in general and how to cook a healthy, preservative free meal, it’s become a normal part of my everyday diet now.
